The city centre is 24 km away, roughly 30 to 40 minutes, and longer in peak season when the western approach backs up. Diocletian's Palace is pedestrianised, so a taxi cannot reach most apartment doors inside the walls. Trogir, Čiovo and the Kaštela riviera
Trogir is only about 6 km from the terminal, closer than Split itself, and the drive takes around 10 minutes. Čiovo island adds another 10. This is also marina country: Marina Kaštela, ACI Marina Trogir and the charter bases around Seget are all within 20 minutes, which matters if your yacht check-in has a fixed window on a Saturday afternoon.
Omiš, Brela, Baška Voda and the Makarska Riviera
South of Split the coast road is the only road. Omiš is about 45 km and takes 50 to 60 minutes, Brela around 75 km, and Makarska about 90 km and an hour and a half. No shuttle bus serves any of it from the airport, and the D8 slows sharply through Split and Omiš in July and August, so a fixed price protects you from a meter running in stationary traffic.
