Do Uber And Bolt Work At Tirana Airport?
No. Uber, Bolt and Lyft do not operate anywhere in Albania, so there is no ride-hailing option at Tirana Airport. Which Destinations Do Our Tirana Airport Transfers Cover?
Tirana Airport is 17 km northwest of the capital at Rinas, and there is still no rail link. A branch line from the Tirana to Durrës railway is planned and under EU connectivity rules, but nothing runs yet, so every Tirana airport transfer is a road journey, whether it ends 20 minutes away in Blloku or four hours south in Ksamil.
Tirana city centre, Blloku and the ring road
Skanderbeg Square is around 20 to 25 minutes away via the SH2 Durrës highway and the airport road, though the run into the centre stretches to 45 minutes or more in weekday rush hour. We take you to your hotel or apartment door rather than to a single square, which matters if you are staying out in Blloku, Komuna e Parisit or near the Grand Park.
Durrës, Golem, Kruja and the central coast
Durrës is roughly 30 km from the terminal, about 35 minutes, and is closer to the airport than Tirana is by some measures. Golem and Mali i Robit are around 45 minutes, and Kruja with its castle and bazaar is a 25 minute run inland. The coach that serves this corridor leaves from the airport bus terminal rather than the arrivals door, and does not stop at beach resorts.
Shkodër, Berat, Gjirokastër and cross-border runs
Shkodër is about an hour and a quarter north and Berat around an hour and three quarters inland, with Gjirokastër roughly three hours south. We also run regularly to Pristina in Kosovo, Ohrid in North Macedonia, and Podgorica and Ulcinj in Montenegro. All three are international border crossings, so everyone travelling needs their own passport and we build queue time into the quote.

Can You Book A Tirana Airport Transfer To Sarandë Or The Riviera?
Yes, and for the southern coast it is often the only sensible option. Vlora International Airport has been announced repeatedly but was still not handling commercial flights as of mid-2026, so everyone heading to Dhërmi, Himarë, Borsh, Sarandë or Ksamil either lands at Tirana and drives, or flies to Corfu and takes the ferry across.
The drive is far easier than it used to be. The SH4 and SH8 have been rebuilt end to end, and the 5.9 km Llogara Tunnel opened in July 2024, replacing a mountain pass at over 1,000 metres with a seven minute transit.
What To Know Before You Book The Southern Run
- Sarandë is around four hours from the terminal and Himarë about three, so an evening flight into Tirana means arriving on the coast well after midnight. We will tell you honestly when an overnight in Tirana or Vlorë makes more sense than driving through.
- The Llogara Tunnel carries a small car toll and restricts heavy vehicles, and it has had closures for maintenance and weather. When it shuts, the fallback is the old pass, which adds well over an hour. Our drivers check before committing to the route.
- Sarandë's seafront is one-way and the exit north towards Ksamil is the worst bottleneck on the southern coast, routinely taking 25 to 45 minutes just to cross town in the middle of a July day.
- If you are connecting to the Corfu ferry, the crossing runs up to around 13 times a day in peak season and takes about 30 minutes on the fast boats. Boarding closes 30 minutes before departure and operators ask you to be there an hour ahead, with passport control in both directions.
- Coming the other way, plenty of people fly into Corfu, take the ferry to Sarandë and then need a car north. We run that leg too, and it is the cheaper shape of the trip for a one-week Riviera holiday.
- Peak summer traffic between Tirana and Vlorë adds 30 to 60 minutes on weekend afternoons, so on the long southern Tirana airport transfers we will usually suggest a morning or a late departure, and we say so at the quote stage rather than after you have booked.
